The midfielder, who hasn't played since Boxing Day, has been in full training for a fortnight and could even return to first-team action against Norwich in the Capital One Cup
FLETCHER RETURN KEPT UNDER WRAPSHowever, The Sweeper can reveal that the 29-year-old, who is battling a serious bowel condition, is ready to play and could even make a surprise appearance next week in the Capital One Cup against Norwich City.
The midfielder bas been in full training for a fortnight and United boss David Moyes contacted Scotland manager Gordon Strachan last week to update him on Fletcher's progress.
The Red Devils don't want to exert any outside pressure on the player, who last appeared against Newcastle on Boxing Day 2012.
Fletcher's team-mates have been asking him what the state of play is, but is keeping it under wraps for fear of a further set-back.

Ravel Morrison has a smile on his face for good reason - and it has nothing to do with his recent scoring form for West Ham.
Club officials were shocked by the state of his teeth last summer and paid for the starlet to have several extracted.
The former Manchester United man is now clearly looking after himself both and off the field.
He has since had a series of expensive dental implants running into thousands of pounds and can't stop smiling - a bit like Hammers boss Sam Allardyce.

MAN CITY'S ETIHAD CAMPUS HAS IT ALL
Manchester City have taken care of everything at their new £100 million Etihad Campus training facility - or so they thought!
The 80-acre state-of-the-art facility includes apartments for the playing squad, a 7,000 seater stadium, a sixth-form college and even a nature trail.
What it also has is a canal which runs along the back of it. No word yet if City's wealthy owners are going to employ people to fish footballs out of the water.
