Barcelona eye swoop for Chelsea midfielder Ramires

Chelsea’s Ramires is being tracked by Barcelona, after being shortlisted as a potential transfer target in the summer, reports ESPN.

The Brazilian is just one transfer option for the Spanish giants, along with Atletico Madird star Koke and Juventus’ Arturo Vidal, as they look to strengthen the squad at the end of the season. It is claimed that Ramires’ strong relationship with Neymar could tempt the Chelsea midfielder into making the switch to the Nou Camp.

Tata Martino is hoping to make the swoop for the Chelsea star in the summer, when Ramires would have spent four years at Stamford Bridge. The 26-year-old Brazil international has made 105 appearances for the Blues, scoring 17 times for the club. The former Benfica man has represented his country over 40 times and is likely to be a part of the Brazil 2014 World Cup squad.

Ramires has won the FA Cup, UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League with Chelsea since joining in 2010, and won Chelsea goal of the season twice, along with Chelsea Players’ Player of the Year in 2011-12.
